A platform bolt is a type of type of triangulation mark. It comprises a large concrete platform with a centrally-placed bolt. Sample dimensions are: bolt: 2in dia, platform: 6ft square, plinth: 3ft high and 4 ft square. This may often be positioned in a hedgeline or raised field boundary. 24 instances are recorded in T:UK, located in North Wales and South West England. In OSGB36 the mark is classified as a bolt but qualified as 'bolt in platform' in the comment field. Platform Bolts were re-used in the passive station era. All marks are of order 3.
